EXBERRY® Colouring Foods Really Natural |
| |
What does natural mean to GNT?
At present the term “natural” is interpreted in many different ways within the EC and in the absence of any formal legal definition it is not easy for manufacturers and consumers to determine exactly what can or cannot be promoted under a natural claim. To remove this element of doubt and ensure consumers are not misled, GNT ensures our EXBERRY® concentrates are really natural by adhering to the following robust principles:
- The raw material should be an edible foodstuff in its own right.
- Only physical techniques or traditional food preparation processes should be employed.
- Processing should use water or other foodstuffs as “solvents” to ensure that no selective extraction of the pigments takes place.
- Any components or ingredients should also be foodstuffs, characteristic food ingredients or of food origin.
- The resulting concentrate is a food as such which could be consumed directly.
EXBERRY® holds the key to clean labelling and providing the most natural way to add colour to food and beverage.
Simple, honest and clear – if it’s got to be natural, it’s got to be GNT!
